This is the second of two Season 6 episodes written by staff writer Bryan Cogman, and the first of two directed by Mark Mylod, who directed High Sparrow and Sons of the Harpy back in Season 5. Here’s the official synopsis:

"The High Sparrow eyes another target. Jaime confronts a hero. Arya makes a plan. The North is reminded."

Is it just me, or is this synopsis even less helpful than usual? Nothing in here is quite so wonderfully vague as the synopsis for last year’s “The Gift” (quote: “Stannis remains stubborn”), but “[t]he North is reminded” is up there. Reminded of what, exactly? Discuss.

Meanwhile, the High Sparrow’s new target is probably Cersei, but I suppose Loras could be in his crosshairs—we never did find out if Margaery sprang her brother when she got out of holy jail. And is Arya making a plan to fight the Waif or to leave Braavos, or both? Or neither?

The likes of Jon, Sansa, Davos, Jaime, Yara, and Theon aren’t mentioned in the synopsis, but they all show up in the trailer below.

I’m personally looking forward to seeing Team Stark remind the North houses of their obligations. That’s been a strong part of this season and I was bummed when that lot sat the previous episode out.

We’ll also be spending a lot of time at Riverrun in this episode, at least if we go by the number of official images set there. Jaime (with Bronn in tow) is there to help the Freys take back Riverrun…

…but the Blackfish, who’s currently occupying the castle, is having none of it. None at all.

These are good scenes from the books, and it’ll be fun to see Clive Russell back in action as the Blackfish.

As usual, some characters don’t turn up in any of the promotional materials, which could mean they’re sitting the episode out, or at least that they don’t play a big part. Absent this week: Team Meereen, Daenerys and friends, Bran’s band, and Ramsay and his Amazing Technicolor Scream Coat.
