Take the Black Podcast—Episode 607—”The Broken Man”

Welcome ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, to the Winter is Coming Game of Thrones podcast: Take the Black. This is the greatest show on Earth (well, at least on this website) bottled up in an hour-and-a-half of knowledgeable commentary, witty banter, and general hijinks.

On this week’s episode of Take the Black, we tackle Game of Thrones Episode 607, “The Broken Man.” Topics include:

  • The cold open that reintroduced us to Sandor Clegane. Does this mean…#CLEGANEBOWL CONFIRMED?
  • We all loved Ian McShane and wished that he would have lived past one episode. Does his death mean…#LADYSTONEHEART CONFIRMED?
  • Is Margaery really a pious woman, or is she playing the High Sparrow for all he’s worth? And is it really her duty to give up that booty?
  • Is Cersei is serious trouble now that all her allies are leaving King’s Landing?
  • We discuss the possibility that Sexy Jesus was actually wearing Arya’s face in Braavos (this was a heated and much-debated topic).
  • Lyanna Mormont is super dope, and we all want to be her. She’s our spirit animal.
  • Is Sansa going down a very slippery slope by trusting Littlefinger?
  • We talk about Yara going full-on lesbian (or was it bi-curious?). Was the change from the books really necessary?
  • Does Theon truly have his fire back?

Our merry band of hooligans discusses all this and more. As usual, Take the Black leans a tad bit on the NSFW side (beware the F-bombs). Also, although we try to keep things as Unsullied-friendly as possible (Cory of House Thone, First of his Name and Lady Isis haven’t read the books), but some spoilers slip out, particularly as pertain to Lady Stoneheart. Beware.

And now,” cried Max, “let the wild rumpus start!”
