Take the Black Podcast—Episode 608—”No One”
Welcome back to another week of Take the Black, Winter is Coming’s Game of Thrones podcast. This week, we discuss the highs and lows of Game of Thrones Episode 608, “No One.”
Before we get into it, the Take the Black team would like to say that we stand strong with Orlando, and our hearts and minds are with the victims and the families of the victims of this past Sunday’s tragic shooting. The city of Orlando has set up a fund called OneOrlando, where you can safely donate funds to help those affected by this horrific act of hate and terror if you choose. As TTB member Isis points out, there are plenty of things one can do to support Orlando, and if you can’t, then good thoughts and prayers are always appreciated. Valar Dohaeris: All men must serve.
Back to the podcast, this week’s topics include:
- Arya’s amazing healing power.
- Was Arya’s story arc in Braavos just one big waste of time?
- What’s with all the off-screen deaths?
- Can we not have any more of Tyrion trying to force comedy out of Missandei and Grey Worm?
- Dany’s back in Meereen, and without a moment to spare, it would seem.
- The Hound got his sweet revenge, and in the course of doing so, crushed the dreams of Lady Stoneheart truthers everywhere…
- …but not before we were introduced to Westerosi stinkfinger.
- Back to the Hound and his new friends, how do Beric and Thoros know about the Night King and the threat of the White Walkers?
- At Riverrun, Jaime delivered a powerful monologue to Edmure.
- Was it necessary for Edmure to order the Blackfish to be clapped in irons and brought to Jaime Lannister? Dick move, Edmure.
- Tommen killed CLEGANEBOWL by outlawing trial by combat.
- But the Mountain still got to pop the top off of a Sparrow.
- And Cersei and Qyburn could be planning to burn everything to the ground.
Our merry band of hooligans discusses all this and more. As usual, Take the Black leans a tad bit on the NSFW side (beware the F-bombs). Also, try as we might to keep things as Unsullied-friendly as possible (Cory of House Thone, First of his Name and Lady Isis haven’t read the books), but some spoilers slip out, so beware.
