Ten questions Game of Thrones Season 7 needs to answer
By Corey Smith
10. Where will Arya Stark go next?
In “The Winds of Winter,” Arya Stark made her triumphant return to Westeros after spending two seasons training with the Faceless Men in Braavos. Once she was back, she coolly and calmly murdered Walder Frey after feeding him two of his sons baked into a pie. So what’s next for House Stark’s master assassin?
This question is interesting, and so far as we’re concerned, it could go in one of two ways. On the one hand, Arya seems intent on marking names off of her list, what with her murder of Walder Frey. Cersei Lannister and Ser Gregor Clegane are both on her list, so Arya may well head south to King’s Landing. Does Arya have it in here to kill a crazy queen and her zombie bodyguard? That’s a fight we’d like to see.
On the other hand, it’s likely that word of Jon and Sansa’s victory at the Battle of the Bastards will spread, and if Arya hasn’t heard about it yet, she might soon. Could she travel north to reunite with her family? She might already know, and stopped at the Twins on her way north.
What does Arya want? To head to King’s Landing and embrace vengeance, or go to Winterfell and attempt to get back to that girl she used to be. That’s Arya’s dilemma.
