SPOILERS: Game of Thrones actors head to Belfast before Season 7

Filming on Game of Thrones Season 7 hasn’t begun yet, although preparation is well underway. The production released a behind-the-scenes video showing off that preparation at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, which wrapped up yesterday. And during the Con, Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) said that filming will start in “five weeks’ time.” Now, Watchers on the Wall has noticed that a couple of actors, neither of whom attended Comic-Con, are quietly traveling back to Belfast, long the center of Game of Thrones production. One of them is kind of unexpected, so please turn back now if you wish to avoid SPOILERS.

Here’s the buzz around Twitter:

Brienne and Jorah Mormont, huh? That would be actors Gwendoline Christie and Iain Glen, respectively. It’s no surprise that Christie is headed back to Belfast. We last saw Brienne in “No One,” sailing away from Riverrun, presumably headed back north to join Sansa.

Glen, though…we last saw Jorah in the middle of the Season 6, in “The Door,” when Daenerys commanded him to find a cure for his greyscale and then return to her. Now, it’s possible he could go and do just that—we have some ideas about how it could happen—but it was also possible that Daenerys was simply giving Jorah something to do with the time he had left, both of them knowing they would probably never see each other again. Whatever he gets up to, it looks like we’ll get to watch some of it in Season 7.

According to McGowan, Glen was reading a script. At Comic-Con, Cunningham claimed that the cast members hadn’t received scripts yet, but it’s possible Glen has an earlier call and got his a bit early, or that the producers purposefully didn’t give scripts to the actors attending Comic-Con so they wouldn’t accidentally spill any beans. Also, without more info, we can’t know that he was reading a script for Game of Thrones. He is an actor.

Heathrow, for those who don’t know, is a major international airport in London. What does the future have in store for Iain Glen and Jorah Mormont? We’ll be waiting and watching and speculating wildly.
