Doctor Who: Jenna Coleman Intrigued By Pearl Mackie
By David Hill
Pearl Mackie has yet to truly make her debut on Doctor Who, but her brief cameo to introduce her character has us all intrigued. We can also count former companion Jenna Coleman amongst those looking forward to the new companion.
Bringing a new companion to Doctor Who will always add some intrigue to the season. That is especially the case with Bill, who we have gotten to see for maybe a minute or two in the video to introduce her as the next companion. With her very brief appearance, and lack of a background, we are left with quite a few questions.
Of course, it is not just us fans who are intrigued by Mackie as the next companion. We can count former companion Jenna Coleman amongst those looking forward to seeing what Mackie will be like in the role, as she is looking forward to seeing Bill in action.

Not only has Coleman been keeping an eye on the upcoming season, but she also has been in contact with Peter Capaldi during filming. This has allowed her to keep an eye on Mackie, who she feels is “the right person and the right actor for the part.” Considering the longevity that Coleman had in the role, as well as the legacy that the various incarnations of Clara Oswald spawned, Mackie certainly has big shoes to fill.
From all accounts, and based on the excitement of those who have been involved in the show, she will more than hold her own. In fact, Bill may be the perfect foil for the Doctor, giving the show the different feel that had been promised for Series Ten.
