Will we see a particular familiar Doctor Who location in Series Ten? If so, will it be portrayed as the same place that it was when introduced in Series Five?
Earlier today, we posted an article titled ‘Doctor Who and Beyond: Some Actors Want to Return, Others Do Not.’ In it, we discuss statements made by actors Eve Myles, Joivan Wade, and Jenna Coleman on whether or not they would like to reprise their roles in the Whoniverse. While Myles and Wade would, Coleman would not. Actors, however, are not the only entities which could potentially repeatedly appear in the franchise of Doctor Who and its spin-offs.
A Den of Geek article from today discusses site contributor Andrew Younger’s recent interesting intel. On Twitter, Younger shared highlights from his family trip to Cardiff, touring locations where Doctor Who has previously filmed. One of them was the childhood home of Amy (Amelia) Pond in the fictional village of Leadworth, first seen in ‘The Eleventh Hour,’ the first episode of Series Five. In our world, it is The Vicarage in Rhymney in Gwent.

According to Den of Geek, Younger revealed that these “interesting tales” included one of “a call from the Doctor Who production team indicating that they may need to use the house again in future.” It is unclear when the house will potentially be needed for a future episode, but, as they are still filming, it is likely that it will be for Series Ten. What is also unclear is whether or not the house will be depicted as Amy’s, or an entirely different location. It is common for Doctor Who and its spin-offs to recycle shooting locales, so this case truly is a mystery. Whatever the case, it would be interesting, as Den of Geek suggests, to see showrunner Steven Moffat come “full circle” from the beginning of his reign to his final season in charge.
