More cast members arrive in Belfast to film Game of Thrones Season 7

An A-list Game of Thrones actor has been spotted in Belfast this morning, while wild rumors ride across the land. As August turns into September and autumn’s chill arrives in Northern Ireland, so now too do the actors who have had the summertime off (for once). The need for the outdoor locations to be photographed in all their winter splendor accounts for the filming delay.

Today’s major catch come courtesy of Twitter. Unlike some actors in the cast, Peter Dinkalge has a way of keeping out of the spotlight during the off-season, and traveling in such a way that we don’t usually catch him coming back and forth from Belfast. (It helped that the last two seasons, the majority of his on-location filming was in Spain.) This year he wasn’t so lucky.

Is it really him?

Why yes, it is.

Meanwhile, one fan snapped a picture of herself with John Bradley (Samwell Tarly).

And when Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor Clegane) is in town, no steak is safe. According to Tony Romas Belfast, the actor showed up for some good eating.

Meanwhile, it looks like Lena Headey (Cersei) and Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) ran into other at the airport. So one of them’s leaving (possibly to film scenes in Spain) and one is arriving, but either way: Cersei and Yara met up.

What happens behind the doors of Titanic Studios? If the authorities can help it, we won’t find out for a long while.

Elsewhere, a pink GoT production sign turned up near Corbet-Banbridge, which is where the production filmed scenes at Riverrun for Season 6. Irish Thrones, the outlet that took the below picture, reported last week that there was work being done in the area, so it looks like we’ll be heading back to Riverrun in Season 7.

While we wait for others to show back up to the Titanic Studios sets, we have a wildly improbable rumor for you. According to German website Bild, Angela Lansbury—yes, of Murder, She Wrote—will appear in two episodes.

This…makes little sense. The recent casting of Jim Broadbent jived with what we know. He fits the casting call description of one of the characters put forth perfectly. But unlike Broadbent, Lansbury does not even come close to anything on the call sheet. (Not that there were exactly many female parts of repute to be found.)

Could some German news site have such an unlikely scoop? Or is this one of those games of telephone where a message gets misunderstood and comes out the other side bizarrely unrecognizable? We’re gonna go with Option #2.
