Seaside locations are in vogue for Game of Thrones Season 7. We already know that the show will film at Itzurun Beach in Zumaia, Los Barruecos in Malpartida, and on the shores of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, in the city of Bermeo. Now, El Correo has information about a new beachfront filming location.

According to the Spanish language publication, the Game of Thrones production will visit Muriola Beach in October. Muriola Beach is located in the small town of Barrika, in the province of Biscay in northern Spain. Mayor Roberto Muñoz was thrilled. “We are very happy,” he said (all quotes translated iffily from Spanish). “A series that go with such impact to a town of 1,500 inhabitants is great and reveals the natural beauty of our people.”

Mayor Muñoz wasn’t able to provide many details. At this point, the production is still shrouded in mystery. “We do not know exact dates and who will come,” he said. “Nor if new extras will be needed.” Still, El Correo mentions that HBO will give locals the opportunity to work alongside the production, so it can only be a good thing for the town.

What might be filmed here? We can’t help but think of Daenerys, which happens whenever we see a new seaside location. She’s sailing for Westeros with all her strength, and will need a place to land. Might Muriola Beach fit the bill? More as it breaks.
