Video: Go behind the scenes of Game of Thrones Season 6 with ’18 Hours at the Paint Hall’

Game of Thrones is a very complicated show to plan and shoot. And Season 6 was harder than usual. Before that, the show had used two units to film material: the Dragon Unit and the Wolf Unit. That by itself is unusual—most shows only have one. But in Season 6, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss had to add a third unit to get the job done. Enter the White Walker Unit.

On one day, all three of the units were in the Paint Hall, a set of stages in Titanic Studios in Belfast, the show’s main production hub. What follows is a lengthy behind-the-scenes look at what happened on that day, complete with interviews with cast members, directors, and crew members. Enjoy.

Man, Emilia Clarke seems like she’d be fun to work with, doesn’t she? Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage don’t seems like a slouch, either. And you have to wonder what it’s like to make catapults and shields and stuff for a living.

This video was first available on HBO Go and Now, but now we can watch it on YouTube in HD. We’re looking forward to watching more special features when the Game of Thrones Season 6 DVD/Blu-ray boxset comes out on November 15.
