Filming on Game of Thrones Season 7 continues apace. At the moment, filming is still concentrated mostly in Northern Ireland, while the production continues to set things up in SpainIrish Thrones has it that there’s been ongoing activity at Corbet-Banbridge. That’s where the show filmed scenes at Riverrun for Season 6, although there’s some studio space in the area, too—the “hold the door” scene was filmed there.

By the sound of it, Riverrun will feature in Season 7. (In another tweetIrish Thrones notes that the castle front is still there.)

Why will we return there? That’s a harder question to answer. Last we left it, it looked like Jaime had secured the place for the Freys. Of course, now that old Walder Frey is dead, there’s sure to be some squabbling among his many heirs as to who should have the castle. Perhaps that’ll require some further intervention.

Later, Irish Thrones noted that the production is faking the weather.

The production delayed filming on Season 7 specifically so it could take advantage of snowy weather. Winter, after all, has finally come. It’s not quite time for snow yet, but clearly the production is making due.

But it’s not all work and no play. Several cast and crew members recently enjoyed a group outing to the O2 Arena in London to take in a boxing match between middleweights Gennady Golovkin and Kell Brook. (Golovkin took down Brook in the fifth round.) Attendees included showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, together with actors John Bradley (Sam), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Alfie Allen (Theon), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei). Emmanuel documented the event on her Instagram.

Speaking of Allen, he has a birthday today! Yes, Theon is 30. His onscreen sister Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) saluted him.

It was rough going for Theon for a while, but hopefully this will be his year. Happy birthday to Mr. Allen!
