Activity around Winterfell set continues, cast member injured, and more sightings

Before we enter the hectic Emmy weekend, we’ve got some reports from the set of Game of Thrones Season 7.

First, activity around Moneyglass, Northern Ireland, the sight of the Winterfell set, has been on the rise lately. From Irish Thrones:

Obviously, we’ll visit Winterfell in Season 7, but we don’t know many specifics. Spoilers about what’ll happen in Season 7 are out there, but they mostly concern what’ll happen in the south of Westeros. What will Jon, Sansa, Littlefinger and company get up to in the North? That’s more of an open question.

Filming also continues at Corbet, where the show filmed scenes at Riverrun last year. There are other spaces there, as well—the production filmed Hodor’s final moments in this area, and built a boat to get some aquatic shots.

Switching over to cast members, Watchers on the Wall has it that Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) hurt her back on the Game of Thrones set, and had to go to the hospital. She’s taking it with good humor, as this Instagram post about unsightly hospital undergarments can attest.

Hopefully, her playful tone means that whatever necessitated a trip to the hospital isn’t too serious, and Yara will be be on the open seas before long.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones cast members are still popping up around Belfast. For example, it looks like Kit Harington was still in the city as of yesterday.

And a new cast member showed up. Here’s the first sighting of Rory McCann (the Hound) of the filming season:

This picture was taken at the Spaniard Pub in Belfast. McCann is doing what he does best: being very tall.

Still, the city may empty of actors over the weekend, as many of them head to L.A. for the Emmys. Maisie Williams, at least, was spotted before taking an outbound flight to parts unknown.

“Have a good flight” indeed. Williams is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama alongside Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke. We wish her and her colleagues the best come Sunday.
