Brits are commonly known to love everything related to Doctor Who. This naturally includes the TARDIS, which they recently voted their favorite fictional television home.

Last week, the official BBC Twitter account released a Series Ten teaser image of the Doctor’s new companion, Bill, making herself at home at the TARDIS console.

Speaking of the TARDIS and home, in a recent study by Yale of two thousand British adults, the TARDIS was ranked the nation’s favorite fictional home. For numerous reasons, it is understandable why the Doctor’s sexy mobile home would take the number one spot. Not only can it take you virtually anywhere in time and space, but it also holds the intrigue of varied mysteries to be discovered in its depths. In addition to these aspects, it has the quirky novelty of a) having a police box for an exterior and b) being bigger on the inside. It also has a super cool, eclectic style that constantly changes to keep up with contemporary times. Oh, yes, and the Doctor lives there. What better host?

The TARDIS beat out all sorts of other great homes, from stately to funky, but all with fantastic style. In second place is Highclere Castle from Downton Abbey, and in third is Southfork Ranch from Dallas, and in fourth is Rachel and Monica’s apartment from Friends. Skipping down to number eight we find 221B Baker Street, London from Sherlock.
