Game of Thrones leads in Hollywood Professional Association Award nominations

The Emmys are over, but awards season has a few more tricks up its sleeve. According to The Hollywood ReporterGame of Thrones is nominated for several Hollywood Professional Association awards. The HPAs have been around since 2006, and honor technical achievements in film, television, and commercials.


With three nods, Game of Thrones has more nominations than any other TV show, although Ridley Scott’s The Martian tied it over on the film side of things. Here’s what the show stands to win:

Predictably, “Battle of the Bastards” is nominated all over the place. That episode should be a technical benchmark for years to come, unless the production team can top it in Season 7. Dazzle us, everyone.

The Hollywood Professional Association Awards will be handed out on November 17 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
