Order the George R.R. Martin Box, featuring a special edition of A Game of Thrones and much more
A special illustrated edition of A Game of Thrones, the first book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire trilogy, will be released soon. Now, publisher Random House is trying to pump up the hype further. Yesterday, Martin’s minions announced on the author’s Not a Blog that the illustrated edition, in addition to being sold separately, will be bundled in with a selection of boxed sets which also contain several other Game of Thrones goodies.
"As part of the celebration Random House is releasing not only the book itself, which is fully illustrated and leather bound, but also three special LIMITED editions that will include exclusive hand picked items in a gorgeous wooden display box."
According to the minions, Random House will host a live unboxing event at some point today on its its Facebook page, so stay tuned. The event will show off all three versions of what is called “the George R.R. Martin box”: the Special Edition, the Limited Edition, and the Ultra Limited Edition.
If you’re going to attend the New York Comic Con (October 6-9), you can get a up-close look at the George R.R. Martin Box—it’ll be at the Penguin Random House booth. If you’re interested in purchasing a box for yourself, then don’t delay, as they will only be available for a short time. There are only 200 of the Ultra Limited Editions available, and Random House is giving away a free House Stark ornament to the first 1,000 pre-orders, so get on over to the site and place an order before it’s too late!
