The Emmys were a couple of weeks ago now, and the cast members from Game of Thrones have all traveled back across the pond to get to work on Season 7. But by tradition, everyone involved with the show that wins Best Drama holds an official interview with the entertainment press. This is where a lot of those quotes you see floating about the next morning come from, and sometimes, just sometimes, it’s where news breaks, if an actor or a producer has had one too many because they didn’t expect to win.

It took a while for someone to finally get around to uploading the full interview, but it finally arrived last night. Although we’ve heard most of the major quotes already, watching the full interview is still an interesting experience. After all, as the cast has expanded over the seasons, it’s become rarer and rarer to have all of the major actors in the same room at the same time. (Even this one is not complete. Lena Headey, for one, chose to stay home.) But even at comic cons, we only get random samplings of actors who happen to be available and willing to show up. As a snapshot of where the cast is after Season 6, it’s as close to complete as there is.

(Yes, I know the frozen image on the top for the YouTube video is from the 2015 Emmys. But the interview really is from this year, as you’ll see when Maisie Williams walks out in that distinctive hairdo.)

I love how the actors cheer each other on when they’re asked specific questions. One of the toughest things about being on Game of Thrones is the “cone of silence” they have to honor. It must be difficult to have reporters ask you a question in front of an entire room that you can’t answer accurately even if you want to.
