Red Dead Redemption 2 Confirmed
The original helped inspired Westworld, now Rockstar Games is teasing Red Dead Redemption 2.
We are finally getting Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games has confirmed the sequel and set October 20th as the day we will get a trailer.
Westworld’s creators have said that the hit HBO show was heavily inspired by video games. The influences of games like Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption can clearly be seen in the show. The synths of Fallout 4 and how they are created strikes an uncanny resemblance to the hosts of Westworld.
Ford is strikingly similar to the Institute’s Father from Fallout 4.
Even more than Fallout 4 though Red Dead Redemption seems to have been an inspiration for Westworld. It only makes sense that you would look to the most successful western themed video game ever to model your western themed future A.I. video game theme park show on.
Now it looks like we may finally be getting a sequel to Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar Games tweeted these two images recently and has changed all of their social media to a red background with a very Red Dead looking Rockstar logo.
We’ve been teased or heard rumors of Red Dead Redemption 2 before and been let down, but this looks very promising. We don’t know if the new Red Dead will be a sequel, a remake, or a prequel, but if you played the original Red Dead and Read Dead Redemption you know a prequel is probably most likely.
We just hope this means the game is coming soon, and not being teased for a release in two years. It sure would make the time pass between seasons of Westworld a lot faster if we had a new Red Dead Redemption to play.
Now if you’ll excuse us we think we’ll dive back into Red Dead Redemption to celebrate.
