As we discussed yesterday, sources suggest that three beach locations (Ituzrun Beach in Zumaia, Muriola Beach in Barrika, and the shores of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Bermeo) are standing in for the same place: Dragonstone. Personally, I thought that meant we would be seeing Dany landing on her home turf, something from the early part of the season as the wandering Targaryen finally returned home.

But now filming has begun in the second of those locations, Muriola Beach, and Dany wasn’t involved. Instead, the new footage confirms a different rumor we were chasing yesterday. Word was that Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) had arrived and was on set. Visual evidence confirmed it. But what we couldn’t confirm (because the picture wasn’t good enough) is if he was talking to Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, as a local outlet reported. Perhaps, if he was, we thought, it might just be that they were both there to film, but not together.

Welp. So much for that theory. Check out this video posted by El Correo.

That’s unquestionably Tyrion Lannister and Davos Seaworth, chatting on the beach near a boat, and then navigating a set of stone steps.

Now, if this is Dragonstone, it makes sense for Jon Snow to send Davos after Dany conquers of the all-but-abandoned homestead. After all, Davos basically lived there for years with Stannis. It’s his home, too. And as a smuggler, Davos could arrive on the island covertly. The question is, did Jon Snow send Davos as a proper emissary? Did Davos decide he needed to go home and spy on Dany for Jon Snow, and then was discovered? How exactly did we get to this scene of Tyrion and Davos standing together as Davos (presumably) stashes the boat he arrived in? Or is he leaving the island? Is this before or after Davos has been in to see Dany?

Did he warn her of the real enemy coming with Winter? Did she believe him?

Moreover, Tyrion is the man who won the Battle of the Blackwater. Davos can’t forgive Melisandre for killing Shireen, and will kill her himself if he ever sees her again. Does he feel the same way about Tyrion, who was responsible for the death of his son? Or does he let that go because it was a death in battle, and his son made his choices, and Tyrion did the same? Will they put it all aside to fight the real enemy?

So many questions, and it’s only the first day…
