And the SPOILERS  for Game of Thrones Season 7 keep coming. It’s that kind of day. Please turn back if you don’t want to know more.

Earlier this morning, we featured a video of the cast and crew mulling about on Muriola Beach in the Spanish town of Barrika. Word is that Muriola Beach will stand in for Dragonstone—it looks like Daenerys will make it into her new base of operations as she plans her invasion of Westeros.

As you can see, the video also shows two fan favorite characters interacting for the first time: Tyrion Lannister and Davos Seaworth. But according to Spanish-language fansite Los Siete Reinos, there was a third person on the scene who didn’t appear in the video: Joe Dempsie, the actor who played Gendry in Seasons 1-3.

We’ve known that Gendry was probably going to feature in Season 7 for a while, ever since Dempsie was spotted in Belfast.

But it’s a surprise to find him on what is almost definitely the Dragonstone set. Last we saw Gendry, he was rowing the hell away from the place. If he stayed, Melisandre planned to sacrifice him to the Lord of Light. She figured that, as the bastard son of King Robert Baratheon, his king’s blood would grant Stannis a powerful boon in the wars to come. Davos, who didn’t hold with that stuff, set him free and told him to make for King’s Landing.

One possibility: Gendry never made it back, and has just been rowing around the island for three seasons, like so.

More likely, he made it to the mainland, but either chose to return to Dragonstone on his own or was summoned by Davos or someone else. But why? As the last surviving child of King Robert Baratheon, might Daenerys enlist his help in winning the Stormlands to her side? The floor is open. Speculate away.
