We’ve finally got a Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, the sequel to the game that helped inspire Westworld is coming in Fall 2017.

We finally have a Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer. Rockstar Games confirmed the sequel early this week and released the trailer just this morning.

If you love Westworld and video games you’ll probably love Red Dead Redemption. The story is full of the same kind of imagery and creepy cowboy vibes given off by Westworld.

Westworld’s creators have said that the hit HBO show was heavily inspired by video games. The influences of games like Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption can clearly be seen in the show. The synths of Fallout 4 and how they are created strikes an uncanny resemblance to the hosts of Westworld.

Ford is strikingly similar to the Institute’s Father from Fallout 4.

Even more than Fallout 4 though Red Dead Redemption seems to have been an inspiration for Westworld. It only makes sense that you would look to the most successful western themed video game ever to model your western themed future A.I. video game theme park show on.

We’ve been teased or heard rumors of Red Dead Redemption 2 before and been let down, now with the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer it’s ok to get your hopes up.

We don’t know if the new Red Dead will be a sequel or a prequel, but if you played the original Red Dead and Read Dead Redemption you know a prequel is likely. The game could still be a prequel and called Red Dead Redemption 2.

There’s also a lot of talk going around the web today about whether or not the game will have a single player mode, since the trailer shows a group riding together. It seems unlikely that Rockstar, known for their single player sandbox games, would leave out a single player mode.

Now if you’ll excuse us we think we’ll dive back into Red Dead Redemption to celebrate.
