Are you as ready for tonight’s episode of Westworld as we are? Episode 4 here we come.
The name of the 4th episode of Westworld is “Dissonance Theory.” Wikipedia describes dissonance theory, or cognitive dissonance like this:
"In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time; performs an action that is contradictory to their beliefs, ideas, or values; or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas or values."
"Leon Festinger’s theory of cognitive dissonance focuses on how humans strive for internal consistency. An individual who experiences inconsistency tends to become psychologically uncomfortable, and is motivated to try to reduce this dissonance, as well as actively avoid situations and information likely to increase it."
It sounds like Dolores may be heading towards an identity crisis; the question is, who will she be when she comes out the other side?
Dolores is remembering!
Dolores is saying the pain is all she has left, which is what Bernard said about his son in the last episode.
Bernard knows about the maze, so either he made it, or he found out about it. Perhaps Bernard knows more about Arnold than he let on?
I don’t know the song? Anyone know?
Maeve is remembering a homicidal maniac guest and being repaired.
Maeve drew one of the men who was repairing her and she’s been hiding the drawings over and over.
Did the woodcutter break his head open to keep them from extracting any info perhaps?
So the company that William and Logan work for has a stake in the park, that is interesting.
Ah so the snake was the snake tattoo on Armistice.
Lawrence’s daughter knows more than she should.
Dolores is going with William.
William is smitten with Dolores, but he’s married to Logan’s sister. Even though Logan is bedding everything in site I imagine he’s not going to love it if William falls in love with a host.
Dolores is having an abduction memory just like Maeve.
OK, so the man in black is someone very well off, does this mean he’s not William and the William is the man in black theory is out the window?
And the man in black isn’t Arnold, that’s for sure.
The man in black is trying to set the hosts free apparently, wow.
Lawrence is under some cruel and unusual torture.
Armistice’s tattoo has something to do with Ford’s new storyline; Wyatt is the key.
One of the native children has made a little toy that looks like one of the guys in the body shop.
The board will be descending at any moment… I still think the park is underwater.
Ford is turning, he’s holding on to something darker.
Is Ford worried about Bernard? Or is it something else?
So Ford is destroying part of the park?
William needs to work on his gun play.
So the man in black and Lawrence are headed after Wyatt and poor, poor Teddy.
Here comes Hector’s robbery of sweetwater again.
Oh man Maeve found the bullet.
Wow what an episode, stay tuned for our instant reaction soon!
