An actor introduced in Season 6 arrives in Cáceres ahead of a big Season 7 battle scene
By Ani Bundel
Another actor has arrived in Cáceres, even though filming in the area doesn’t start for 10 days. And it’s not who you may have been expecting. As we noted yesterday, the production started loading into the areas around Malpartida this weekend in preparation for filming a major battle scene that will feature horses, boats, and hundreds of extras. Although hotel reservations were made for the 14th, Los Siete Reinos reports that an important actor is already in town.
Coincidence? Or is he taking part in the big battle and needs extra rehearsal time? Turn back now if you don’t want to know SPOILERS!
Most other days I write a little spoiler song
And hope you all sing along.
Sadly, today is not most other days.

Ok, so spoilers and stuff: James Faulkner, who plays Randyll Tarly, Sam’s xenophobic, misogynistic, and bigoted-against-wildings father, is in town.
He’s in a dental office there. In her own tweet, a receptionist there confirmed that the clinic was located in Cáceres.
Now, note that Faulkner uses a Da Vicni’s Demons hashtag. That’s a TV show on which Faulkner played Pope Sixtus IV. That suggests he’s there for something else, and we’d buy that excuse….except Da Vinci’s Demons was canceled at the end of the 2015 season. So.
Also, Faulkner tweeted a photo of himself with a horse, naming himself Randyll:
So why is he there? Remember: Randyll is a Tarly bannerman, and the Tarlys are now at war with the Lannisters. Previously, Jerome Flynn (Bronn) shows up in the area, suggesting that he’ll be part of the battle scene, too.
Could we be in for a Tarly-Lannister smackdown? Stay tuned.
