Westworld Nominated For Three Critics Choice Awards
Westworld has been nominated for three Critics Choice Awards including Best Drama Series.
It’s not just the millions of fans tuning into Westworld each week who are appreciating the show, critics are starting to take notice too. Westworld has been nominated for three Critics Choice Awards.
- Thandie Newton has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
- Evan Rachel Wood has been nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series
- Westworld has been nominated for Best Drama Series
It’s absolutely fantastic to see Westworld getting the credit it deserves for being such an incredible show. We’re particularly thrilled by the nomination of Thandie Newton who we think has been a stand out on Westworld. It’s hard to stand out on a cast like Westworld’s, but Thandie Newton is just so extraordinarily spectacular as Maeve. We just wish Louis Herthum had gotten some awards love for his powerful portrayal of Peter Abernathy. Unfortunately Peter Abernathy only being in a couple of episodes probably hurt Herthum’s chances.
Westworld will be facing tough competition in the Best Drama Series category as the other nominees are:
- Better Call Saul
- Game of Thrones
- Stranger Things
- Mr. Robot
- The Crown
- This is Us
All of those are spectacular shows, there’s really not a show in this list that you can say doesn’t belong. 2016 has been a terrible year in every area other than television.
Hopefully this is just the start of a great awards season for Westworld. Westworld’s ratings have been great, and the show was renewed for a second season by HBO, a great awards season would really put an exclamation point on what might be the most successful first season of a drama on HBO since Game of Thrones.
