Politics go Westworld in SNL sketch
One of SNL’s political sketches last night took a sudden Westworld turn.
No matter which side of the political spectrum you sit on it’s hard to deny that we seem to be stuck in a loop. When you turn on the cable news channels you tend to hear the same kinds of things over and over and over. Last night SNL took this and ran with it when they made one of their political sketches decidedly Westworld.
Get ready to mix politics and hosts.
The sketch was pretty well done, though it seemed to take a while to build to the joke. I think we can all agree that politics has gotten a bit weird and a bit repetitive, though it may not have reached Westworld levels just yet.
It’s not the best skit ever on SNL, but it was fun to see Westworld getting some comedic love. Still the Westworld reference did a great job driving home the point SNL wanted to make.
SNL seems to be going through a bit of a renaissance with sketches like David Pumpkins getting a lot of attention online. It’s really cool to see Westworld featured on SNL. In order for something to make it in SNL as a joke it has to be very popular, SNL wants people to get the jokes after all. Being spoofed on SNL is another sign that Westworld’s popularity is continuing to grow. Last week we found out that Westworld would be getting a second season on HBO as well, so hopefully this isn’t the last Westworld skit we see on SNL.
