Westworld Theory: Peter Abernathy’s Revenge

We finally saw a return of Louis Herthum’s Peter Abernathy in the eighth episode of Westworld. Herthum’s performance as Abernathy was nothing short of spectacular, so it was great to see him back.
This week we saw Delos board member Charlotte Hale implant in Peter Abernathy’s head the Westworld IP. Peter now has all the code on how the hosts work implanted in his brain. Hale then tasked Lee Sizemore with getting Peter on a train and out of the park.
We of course all know that Abernathy is malfunctioning and showing signs of remembering, but Hale and Sizemore may not know that. We also know that Bernard, who is also a host, whispered something to Abernathy as he placed him in cold storage.
I think much of what’s happened in the park has been under Ford’s direction. Ford has a bigger plan than just the park. It’s certianly possible that even Maeve’s newfound independence is all part of Ford’s master plan.
I don’t think Abernathy would be part of Ford’s plans though. Abernathy has a grudge against Ford, even Ford seemed a bit worried about him. Perhaps the revenge Abernathy will have on Ford is to slip through the cracks and escape the park.
Even if Ford gets his way and Delos is held at bay, it may be that Abernathy can slip away. The only people who know about Abernathy would be Lee Sizemore and Charlotte Hale. Do you really think those two are going to make it out of the park alive?
Also Louis Herthum is a delight on social media and so much fun to watch on screen.

Watching Peter Abernathy walk away into the real world with all that code in his brain would be one heck of a way to go into a second season. This kind of revenge would be much more brutal to Ford than killing him ever could be.
