Popular Westworld Theory Debunked?

A video attempting to debunk one of the most popular Westworld theory on the internet.

SPOILER WARNING: THIS WESTWORLD THEORY POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM RECENT EPISODES OF WESTWORLD. IF YOU AREN’T CAUGHT UP ON WESTWORLD AVOID THIS POST! THIS POST ALSO CONTAINS CONJECTURE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF WESTWORLD, IF YOU DON’T WANT TO HEAR POSSIBLE WESTWORLD SPOILERS AVOID THIS POST!

We talked about the theory that perhaps the man in black isn’t William at all, but Logan earlier this week. We all assume that William is the man in black. That’s the big Westworld theory that’s been passed around the internet since the first episode aired… but what if it’s wrong? What if William isn’t the man in black at all, perhaps it’s someone else.

Now I’m not arguing that  we aren’t seeing two timelines. I think it’s pretty clear that we are seeing two timelines. But what if William isn’t the man who makes it to the future. After all there are two men with Dolores.  We know that the man in black is on the Delos board, and we know both William and Logan are part of the company.

The show has done a great job making us dislike Logan and like William up to this point. Until the last episode, in episode 9 suddenly it was William who was losing his mind. Logan is just a guy on vacation, sure he’s been cruel to the hosts, but he sees them for what they are. William on the other hand has fallen in love with a host and has held a knife to his future brother-in-law’s neck. William has lost all perspective.

We know that Dolores killed Arnold. If this story is playing itself over again, what’s to say that she won’t turn on William as well? Perhaps the death of William turns Logan into the man in black?

Check out this video on the man in black being William and decide for yourself.

The biggest problem with this theory is of course that the man in black has blue eyes and Logan has brown. That might not seem like a big deal, but is Westworld really the type of show to miss that kind of detail?
