Sophie Turner: Sansa goes on “a bit of a power trip” in Game of Thrones Season 7

It’s still a month until the Christmas holidays, but here this afternoon, Entertainment Weekly brought us a present. They’ve got the first official interview with a cast member on the subject of Game of Thrones Season 7: Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark.

When we last left Sansa, she was sitting next to her

half-brother

cousin, Jon Snow as he was declared King in the North. So how will her character be taking the new order when we return to Winterfell this summer?

"She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her. She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds."

That’s not all that surprising. The question is, will Jon Snow be at her side to assuage those insecurities? Or will she fall prey to the honeyed words of Littlefinger, who we all know would just love to exploit the hell out of any opening she gives him.

She doesn’t say much on either front, but she does tease more reunions.

"What overall excites me about this season is that main characters are coming together and it feels like things are ramping up. It’s really exciting and all feels like it’s coming to a big conclusion."

What does a reunion of main characters mean for Sansa, though? If Arya and Bran show up at Winterfell, for example, would it ground her, or make her insecure about her position? What if she met her ex-husband Tyrion again? How awkward would that reunion be?

We’ll have to wait months to find out. Until then, I’ll be mentally writing fanfic.
