Game of Thrones cast members tease new projects, and Emilia Clarke hugs a Stormtrooper

While major battle scenes are being filmed in Spain, most of the rest of the cast is back in Belfast, either working on new projects or filming other scenes for the show. They’re also taking to their Instagrams.
First up: Emilia Clarke capitalized on her landing of a major role in the Star Wars universe. If you haven’t heard, she’ll be in a “Han Solo stand alone film.” Yesterday, she weighed in.
One would think she would have already had millions of followers from the Thrones fanbase, but apparently, adding Star Wars to one’s resume means leveling up in a big way. But don’t worry, GoT fans. She hasn’t forgotten where she is right now. Well, sorta.
(That’s just a seriously gorgeous photo, and worth posting again and again. Kudos to whoever took it.)
Meanwhile, Maisie Williams is also looking forward to her next project, and boasting about it on Instagram.
Stealing Silver is the new short film Williams is starring in, directed by Mark Lobatto. We don’t have a lot of info on the film other than that at this time, other than this poster.
But that’s not all Williams is working on. This morning she posted a short film of her own, promoting The Dolphin Project, a charity which is near and dear to her heart.
Sophie Turner is also working on a new project: a relationship with Joe Jonas. Unlike her compatriots, she’s not the one posting pictures about it. That’s People and US magazine’s job, apparently.
Meanwhile, in news of those who have been left behind, or left for dead on the show, Charlotte Hope (Myranda) and Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis) have new projects. Hope is hyping her turn in the Sam Shephard play Buried Child, which she stars in on stage alongside Westworld star Ed Harris. She says in it that getting the part on Game of Thrones changed everything for her.
"At the time I was up for another series, which I thought was going to be my big break, but I didn’t get that. My agent said to me that there was an opportunity to do Thrones, but it was one scene with a lot of nudity, and I loved the show."
Hope impressed the producers, so they wrote her into the next season. And then the next. And then Theon pushed her over a ledge and she died. “I don’t feel like it was a lucky break,” she said. “I got it because I was good at acting.”
Meanwhile, Huisman will be starring in a brand new film alongside Downton Abbey alumni Lily James. It has a mouthful of a title: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. He’s the second GoT alumni she’s worked with, the first being Richard Madden in the hit live action Cinderella last year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter,
"The story is set in the aftermath of World War II and follows journalist Juliet Ashton (James), who decides to write about the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, a book club formed on Guernsey Island in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy during wartime. It begins when she receives a letter from a resident named Dawsey (Huisman), a farmer on the island. She starts writing letters to the book club, and eventually travels to the island to meet the members and write a book about the group."
The movie is based on the 2008 bestselling book of the same name by Annie Barros and Mary Ann Shaffer. It should be noted that said film would not preclude Huiman returning to Thrones in a limited capacity if Daario should decide he’s tired of being left behind to run Meereen without Daenerys.
