Ramin Djawadi plays the Westworld “Main Title Theme” on piano
Westworld soundtrack composer Ramin Djawadi plays the Westworld “Main Title Theme” on piano.
There’s no doubt that Ramin Djawadi is a master at what he does. Djawadi has created some of the most compelling and and intriguing themes and soundtracks of the last ten years. Djawadi is best known of course for his work on Game of Thrones, but the success of Westworld theme and soundtrack means he of course has another hit on his hands.
It’s going to be so much fun following Ramin Djawadi’s career, I feel like we might be seeing a young John Williams with a long career of incredible music ahead. It’s probably too early to make those kinds of bold predictions about Djawadi, but it’s hard not to when you see what’s he’s created already at 42.
This video is from a Facebook Live promotion for Westworld Episode 8 “Trace Decay” and features Ramin Djawadi himself performing his Westworld “Main Title Theme”.
The Westworld “Main Title Theme” might be up there with the “Star Trek Theme” as one of my all time favorite show themes now. When the show first began I thought the theme was wonderful, but maybe not quite as powerful as the “Game of Thrones Theme.” However, as the show unfolded I saw how perfectly the subtlety of the theme fit the series. I don’t know if you’re going to hear marching bands playing the Westworld “Main Title Theme” anytime soon like they do the “Game of Thrones Theme,” but in it’s own way it’s even more perfect.
