SPOILERS: Unexpected actor returning for Game of Thrones Season 7
By Dan Selcke
Six seasons in, Game of Thrones has a very deep roster of characters. And even though plenty died in Season 6, we got new ones, too, including Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) and Robett Glover (Tim McInnerny), both of whom are returning for Season 7.
Today, Watchers on the Wall brings the world news of another, more surprising return. Beware SPOILERS below.
According to his United Artists agency résumé, David Bradley will appear in Game of Thrones Season 7. Bradley, you will recall, played the acerbic Walder Frey in Seasons 1, 3 and 6 of the show.
Now, the last time we saw Walder Frey, Arya Stark had just slit his throat after feeding him a pie made with meat from his own sons. So how does he come back? Well, we remind you that Arya is lately of the Faceless Men, who have the power to change their faces. So while David Bradley may appear in Season 7, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Walder Frey will. Instead, Arya might impersonate him.
That explanation lines up with some Reddit spoilers that leaked a while back. Alternatively, Walder Frey could always appear in one of Bran’s dives into the past. Or he might just have an open casket funeral. We’ll have to wait until the summer to find out for sure.
