Doctor Who Spin-Off Show the Class Isn’t Hitting Hard

The ratings for the Class are not doing so well and fans worry that the Doctor Who spin-off might be short lived on the BBC.

The Class seemed like a promising spin-off for older audiences of Doctor Who. It followed the kids at the Coal Hill Academy and their missions. It even featured the Twelfth Doctor and was littered with Easter eggs to Doctor Who.

But apparently that wasn’t enough. Especially since the ratings continue to steadily drop rather than get better. The show start with a 1.06 million viewer rating and now it is down to .21 million views for the 6th episode of the season.

Those who watch the show seem to really like it but that isn’t enough for the ratings to not slip. Maybe it’s because it isn’t the Doctor Who they expect but it isn’t Doctor Who to begin with. Much like Torchwood, it is a completely different show with call backs to the original series.

Now there hasn’t been any confirmation as to whether or not The Class will survive for a second season or not but at least we are getting new spin-offs of Doctor Who. Who knows, maybe we’ll get one of Clara and Me traveling through space.

If not, we should at least try and support The Class. It seems like an interesting enough premise and why not support a show that is part of our favorite series? I know I’m going back and watching them all!
