The Doctor Who Season 10 Premiere Date Is Set, And We THINK We Can Make It

The Doctor Who season 10 premiere date has been announced for the Spring. It’s not really all that far away, and we think we can make it.

The news of the Doctor Who season 10 premiere date got lost among all the Peter Capaldi leaving news yesterday. But, we have an official date, folks, and it’s not that far away.

Just hours after Capaldi announced he would be leaving the show at the end of the year, the BBC announced the tenth season of Doctor Who would return on April 15th at 9 PM. The much anticipated tenth season will be followed up by it’s spin off, Class.

April 15th is going to be big night all around for the Whoniverse. Not only will this be Capaldi’s last first episode, but he is also crossing over into the season premiere of Class. It’s a bittersweet occasion for fans. This season will not only be Capaldi’s last, but also the last for writer and creative influencer, Steven Moffat.

Entertainment Weekly reports the twelfth Doctor, currently a two-hearted alien from the planet Gallifrey, will regenerate in the 2017 Christmas special in December. This will be both Capaldi’s and Moffat’s last moments with Doctor Who.

This season also marks the start of  Pearl Mackie’s tenure as the companion, Bill. This will be the first and only season that Bill and the Doctor will have adventures together, and we have to admit, we’re a little disappointed about that.

We’re deep in our feelings over here at Doctor Who Watch. On the one hand, we’re dying to get our eyes on the new season 10. On the other, we’re sad to see one of our favorites go, especially when we were just about to get a new companion and have all sorts of new and exciting chemistry.
