Liam Cunningham (Davos) teases conflict with the White Walkers in Season 7

The Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience begins in just a couple of weeks, and People was on hand to document a rehearsal. Actors Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) and Liam Cunnigham (Davos) were also on hand, and Cunningham had some very interesting things to say about Game of Thrones Season 7, particularly the upcoming battle between the White Walkers and the scattered forces of Westeros.

Watch the video below. Cunningham’s bit starts at 1:25.

"We’ve seen the journey over the last season, and we know the danger that’s coming from the north, with the Night King and his band of merry men. And there’s no way any one team is going to take care of that. So there’s obviously messages flying back and forward between people, so it’s going to be really interesting and different feel in this season than in previous, at least it was when we were filming."

I love that Cunningham refers to the White Walkers as “the Night King and his band of merry men.” The “teams” he’s talking about likely refer to Houses Stark, Lannister, and Targaryen. There needs to be sort of communication between them if they want to come out of this alive.

That’s interesting about the “messages flying back and forward.” I wonder if we will see the maesters for each house begin to actively communicate with each other, perhaps acting on some sort of directive from the Citadel, where Samwell Tarly and Gilly are currently situated. That would be a fantastic way to bring all the players into the story, with the impending doom of the Night King’s attack as the glue that brings all the major players together…even if it is for the briefest of moments.

Elsewhere, Conleth Hill (Varys) spoke with CBS News about his new film a Patch of Fog, available on VOD and iTunes. He also talked just a little bit about Season 7 filming. Ends up he’s done.

"I can tell you that I am done with filming, which is why I am rehearsing for a play in London. I can tell you that their production is still going until the end of this month, maybe the next month."

So now we know that Hill has finished his scenes for Season 7, as has Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), and most recently Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen). So that’s Dany and some of her closest advisers. What does that mean for Varys’ future? Naturally, Hill wouldn’t say.

"I kind of love the journey. I made my mind up quite early — because of the nature of the show and the nature of people who are bigger names than me being killed off — that I didn’t take anything for granted. I just said for however long this lasts I’m going to enjoy it and that’s how I’ve been so far."

Now who wants to guess when the first trailer will be out?
