This Artist Reimagines Doctor Who The Anime Style

This artist makes gives us Doctor Who anime, and now we’re wondering why we haven’t had this all along. We need it in our lives.

This artist, known as osmosis8 on the website Deviant Art, is making our Doctor Who anime  dreams come true. The artist is obviously a fan – a very, very talented fan at that – and has interpreted some of the favorite doctors in an anime style.

He’s mostly concerned with the newest doctors, played by Matt Smitt and David Tennant, but some of his art nods to the older seasons as well. The art is so beautifully rendered, you have to wonder why this isn’t a series all on it’s own.

Here, he imagines a Doctor Who/Sherlock crossover, with “Whole World Around,” and we now we’re imagining it too.

The Chinese artist has an eclectic collection, but it’s clear that he really loves Doctor Who, and his reimagining of the British series is downright inspired. These gorgeous renderings show a real love for the series. You can tell they come from a place of real affection.

This piece, “10th and 5th,” osmosis8 draws David Tennant and Peter Davison in a striking contrast.

He creates an homage to the modern incarnation of the series in this piece, “Doctor Who: The New Doctors.” Chris Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith are all represented here.
