Alfie Allen (Theon) hosts soccer documentary, Kristian Nairn enters dystopia

The Game of Thrones cast are keeping busy. We’re here to tell you how.
Fans of football — that’s soccer to America — in the UK might be interested in checking out Alfie Allen’s latest project, Football: A Brief History by Alfie Allen, which airs on the History channel from Thursday, 23 February. Check out a clip.
The two-part series will focus on Allen’s travels around the UK as he delves into the defining moments in the establishment and growth of the sport in the UK. Allen is granted exclusive access to several stadiums and interviews with footballing icons, as well as fellow fans of the sport, including his Game of Thrones castmate Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne).
This is something of a passion project for Allen, who has been a huge fan of the sport since childhood. In his younger years, he played regularly for the youth camp of his (and my) favorite team, Arsenal FC, a London-based Premier League club. Here he is talking about the club and what it means to him.
Sadly, a knee injury ended Allen’s professional footballing aspirations, which is lucky for us, as we get to enjoy his powerful performances as Theon Greyjoy.
In other news, Arya Stark’s favorite thespian Essie Davis (Lady Crane) is starring alongside Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) and Rebecca Benson (Talla Tarly) in The White Princess, an upcoming British-American historical fiction television series for Starz, based on Philippa Gregory’s 2013 novel of the same name. Check out the trailer below.
The White Princess is a sequel to BBC’s The White Queen, and debuts on Starz on April 16, 2017. Davis takes on the role of the Elizabeth Woodville, aka the former Queen consort of England and maternal grandmother to the infamous Henry VIII. Fairley plays Lady Margaret Beaufort, Henry VIII’s paternal grandmother.
Fun fact: the real Margaret Beaufort played a key role in the Wars of the Roses, the real-life events upon which George R.R. Martin based the war between Houses Lannister and Stark. A good Game of Thrones fan can find connections anywhere.
Finally, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) has just signed on to dystopian sci-fi movie Biopunk, which is currently seeking donations on Kickstarter. Nairn will play Bob, a market stall worker in London where the main character, Resha, works. Dresden Pictures, the production company behind the movie, describes it as follows:
"Set in a world devastated by a mysterious virus, the human race no longer finds itself the dominant species. Decades of infection have transformed swathes of the population. These new breeds have become known as Altereds. Corralled into ghettos and treated as second-class citizens, a fragile new world has emerged.Biopunk follows the story of Resha, a street-smart Altered struggling to make a living whilst raising her younger brother Kio. When Kio is kidnapped by the militarized faction of the Altereds, she is forced to venture beyond the city’s limits in a race to rescue him before he can be turned into the ultimate weapon."
That sounds ambitious for a Kickstarter-funded movie! You can make donations here.
