Nearly 10,000 Fans Sign Petition to Save the Doctor Who Experience

The Doctor Who Experience is something that every fan should enjoy and fans are making sure that it doesn’t close as scheduled.

The Doctor Who Experience is meant to be closing its doors. Well, it’s supposed to but fans are making it hard for the Cardiff landmark to simply close up and forget the fans forever. Mainly because nearly 10,000 people have signed a petition to save it.

For those who don’t know, the Experience features relics from the show as well as an inside look at the TARDIS and so much more. It is a wonderful adventure for everyone especially for those who love the show.

So why is the BBC closing it down? It’s not like the museum dedicated to the show doesn’t make money. Many fly to Cardiff exclusively to see the Daleks and replicas and everything else that embodies Doctor Who. Maybe it isn’t doing as well as we all envisioned but whatever is happening, fans don’t want it to go anywhere.

The exhibit was always meant to close at this time because the lease to the land was up but many fans just assumed they would extend. Now that it seems as if the BBC wasn’t planning on it, they want action to keep this landmark alive.

The petition organizer Bex Ferriday spoke with WalesOnline about what they believed the petition could do.

“I know the land was only leased for five years but surely anyone can see that… to knock this on the head, when we have got Doctor Who being filmed here and the studios here, seems like a really stupid thing to do.”
