Of course the TARDIS was voted greatest fictional doorways because there are few others can bend time and space the way it can.
In a recent Cultbox article, they posted this e-Hardware infographic about “greatest fictional doorways.” Obviously, the Doctor Who TARDIS was voted as one of the best 7.
Of course we knew this already, as the TARDIS’ “chameleon circuit” caused it to become one of the most recognizable and iconic symbols in contemporary popular culture. In fact, the Doctor Who series has become so important to British culture, the TARDIS is almost more recognizable than the police box after which it’s fashioned.

The infographic on the site Cultbox says of the infamous TARDIS and it’s now ranked doorway, “Tricky to nail down, this one. Requires more maintenance on the inside than the outside, for some reason. Can often be sen blasting through space and time.”
The BBC reports on the introduction of the TARDIS into the Whoniverse, saying, “When the Doctor first touched the TARDIS console he said the ship was the most beautiful thing he’d ever known. And then he stole it, choosing to crash through the cosmos, saving people and planets and being taken where he needed to go by his frankly magnificent time machine.”
Due to the “trans-dimensional engineering” the TARDIS is bigger on the inside. It has a library, a swimming pool, a boot room, and a huge closet packed full of clothes. The Doctor is still exploring all it’s secret nooks and crannies. If you ask us, this is the greatest doorway of all time. Ever.

Others on the list: the Wardrobe from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe; 221b Baker Street from Sherlock; Bag End in The Hobbitt; The Flowery Door from Monsters Inc.; Hodor’s Door in Game of Thrones; and Platform 9 3/4 from the Harry Potter series.
You don’t have to guess where we put the TARDIS on this list, but you have to admit, this is a solid list of fantastical doorways.
