Rose Leslie (Ygritte) remembers dying in Jon Snow’s arms, and other cast member tidbits
By Dan Selcke
Since graduating from Game of Thrones, Rose Leslie has scored a starring role on CBS’ The Good Fight, playing a young attorney and acting alongside Hollywood heavyweight Christine Baranski. She’s doing very well for herself, but many fans will always know her as Ygritte, Jon Snow’s doomed wildling lover. The New York Post recently asked Leslie to recall Ygritte’s death scene, where she died in Jon Snow’s arms after whispering her signature line: “You know nothing, Jon Snow.”
"It was very emotional. The love that she felt for Snow overrode any frustration she felt. It was very painful. Ygritte was happy to be dying in the arms of the man she loved. It was a very lovely storyline to be a part of."
Aw. Well, that’s a mature way to approach it. It beats busting into tears whenever she thinks about it, anyway.
As some fans may know, Leslie and actor Kit Harington are dating in real life, and have been for four years. “My boyfriend is a phenomenal man,” she said. Good on them.
The Good Fight, by the way, has been renewed for a second season.
In other cast member news, a couple weeks back we posted a still from a photoshoot Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) did for GQ Style. The jacket he wore was bold — bold, I say.
Wright has posted another image from that shoot on his Instagram. The forward-thinking fashion choices continue.
Is it just me or do his legs look way longer than they should? How is that happening?
Elsewhere, Game of Thrones cast members Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandai) stopped by Paris to celebrate the ongoing partnership between HBO and OCS, a French group of TV channels.
Consider this a preview of how a Davos-Missandei meeting would go. Dany has set sail for Westeros, so there’s no telling who her staff might encounter.
Finally, Racing.com reports that Jon Snow is making lots of waves…at the race track. A three-year-old colt named Jon Snow won an important race this past Saturday at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Australia, and breeder Richard Moore was pleased. “I watched the race and I was delighted. I can’t wait for the mare to foal,” he said.
Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, King in the North, prize-winning race horse…is there anything Jon Snow can’t do?
