Game of Thrones wins three Webby People’s Voice Awards

This year, Game of Thrones was nominated for three Webby Awards, and it won all of them…kind of. The Webby Awards, which award excellence on the Internet, are a little different than your average award ceremony. To start, there are a ridiculous number of categories. Really, it’s nuts. Also, there are two awards handed out in every category. The standard Webby Award is voted on by the members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which is comprised of over a thousand industry experts. Then there’s the Webby People’s Voice Award, which is voted on by…the people. Both awards can go to the same nominee, but they can also be split up within a category.
So it happened with Game of Thrones, which didn’t win any Webby Awards but won all three Webby People’s Voice Awards for which it was eligible. The people have spoken. Here’s how the voting went down:
