According to Anglophenia,

"Sense8 centers on eight people from eight different parts of the world who discover they have a strange mental and emotional connection: these so-called “sensates” can communicate with one another telepathically, and also share each other’s knowledge, language, and skills. Lucky them, right? Well, yes, but their otherworldly bond also makes them a target for a mysterious and seemingly powerful organization that perceives them as a threat to the global status quo. So they’re blessed, but also under threat."

The show shows beautiful global places, using cinemaphotographer John Toll. Places such as Nairobi, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Amsterdam, San Francisco, London, Berlin, and LA. All places where the eight people who are connected live. Because Netflix is not controlled by any network, many different types of relationships are shown.

With the cast as diverse as it is, and with the ideas of different types of romance being shown across the world, this is exactly what society needs in a television show. It also helps that it’s incredibly bingeable.

Freema herself plays Amanita, and ally of the 8. She’s already been seen in a rather steamy scene on a boat. According to Express, Freema strips to have a love scene with her on-screen transgender girlfriend, one of the eight.

With a diverse cast with diverse relationships and beautiful cinematography, why shouldn’t this be a show we watch during the week while we wait for Doctor Who on the weekends?

Agyeman played Martha Jones, who appeared on the third season of Doctor Who with tenth doctor David Tennant and appeared on Torchwood. She was Doctor Who’s first companion of color.
