Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Mace Tyrell) joins Con of Thrones lineup
By Dan Selcke
Con of Thrones, the largest Game of Thrones fan convention of its kind, has added yet another star to its roster! The convention, which will run from June 30 through July 2 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN, already has an impressive mix of cast and crew members confirmed to attend. Check ’em out:
- Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton)
- Kerry Ingram (Shireen Baratheon)
- Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn)
- Rupert Vansittart (Yohn Royce)
- Sam Coleman (Young Hodor)
- Aimee Richardson (Myrcella Baratheon)
- Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel)
- Carice van Houten (Melisandre)
- David Peterson (the conlanger behind the Dothraki and Valyrian languages)
- Tommy Dunne (the show’s Weapons Master)
- Paula Fairfield (sound designer)
Now, the organizers have announced that Roger Ashton-Griffiths, aka Mace Tyrell, will be joining the lineup as well. Let’s see if we can prod him into a song — Mace always seemed eager enough to show off his pipes:
Unfortunately, Mace died in the Game of Thrones season 6 finale, another victim of Cersei’s pyromaniacal killing spree in King’s Landing. But Ashton-Griffiths is still going strong, having appeared in movies like The Lobster and TV shows like Taboo. You’ll be able to see him in the near future in Breathe, directed by Andy Serkis, and A Crooked House, based off an Agatha Christie novel.
But it’s definitely best if you see him in person at Con of Thrones. For tickets and further information, head here.
