Gwendoline Christie makes the cover of Vanity Fair, and other Game of Thrones actor news

Game of Thrones might be winding down, but the careers of of its stars are on the upswing. Case in point: Gwendoline Christie (Brienne ) recently appeared on one of four Star Wars-themed covers for this month’s issue of Vanity Fair. In addition to appearing as Brienne this summer, Christie will reprise her role as Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hits theaters in December. Check her out below, posing with costars Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux).

Of note is that Captain Phasma never removed her helmet in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Let’s hope that changes in The Last Jedi.

Of course, it didn’t take long for the internet to give the cover spread a Game of Thrones twist.

Never change, internet. Never change.

Elsewhere, we have received more evidence that Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) might be the coolest human being on the planet. Here’s footage of him (on the left) performing a haka, a traditional Māori war dance, in honor of new friend UFC Heavyweight Mark Hunt. Enjoy.

According to TMZ, the pair struck up a friendship while Momoa was in Australia (Hunt’s home) filming DC Comics’ Aquaman. The haka was performed as sendoff to Hunt, who faces Derrick Lewis on June 11.

Speaking of huge, hulking men, The Independent reports that Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) recently placed second in World’s Strongest Man competition, losing out to Britain’s Eddie Hall.

This was Björnsson’s sixth top three finish in the contest. Now the question is: bro, do you even lift?
