Kit Harington discusses a very awkward celebrity run-in, and other cast member news

As always, the cast members of Game of Thrones are keeping busy, both those who are still on the show and those whose characters are long dead. Let’s catch up with them.

We start with Kit Harington, who went on The Late Late Show with James Corden and told a charming story about how he met singer/songwriter/Game of Thrones enthusiast Ed Sheeran. Also, fair warning: the story involves Kit Harington’s penis. Enjoy.

And that inappropriate encounter in a urial blossomed into a cameo for Sheeran in season 7. People meet in all kinds of ways. (Sidenote: I’ve never heard the word “urial” pronounced that way.)

Moving, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) isn’t staying idle after his character bravely held the door and died in Game of Thrones season 6. He’s appearing in a new film called Biopunk, about life in London “some 30 years after a virus has devastated half the world’s population and transformed them into something other than human.”

Or rather, Nairn is appearing in a proof-of-concept video for a new film called Biopunk. Dresden Pictures raised a bunch of money through Kickstarter to produce this short film with the hope that it could then get it made as a feature film. Check it out below — Nairn’s character, a junk dealer named Bob, shows up around 3:06. And yes, he can say more than “Hodor” in this one. He does speak in the third person, though, so at least he has some verbal quirk.

Finally, Variety reports that Belfast, Northern Ireland, long the home base for filming on Game of Thrones, is planning ahead for the period after the show is over. Syfy will take up residence in the recently constructed Belfast Harbour Studios to film Krypton, a show set on Superman’s home planet before it blew up. “I’m hugely excited about the period after ‘Game of Thrones,’ where we have a level of stage capacity such that there really isn’t a project we couldn’t facilitate,” said Northern Ireland Screen CEO Richard Williams.

Incidentally, Krypton will star Game of Thrones alum Ian McElhinney (Barristan Selmy), assumedly as someone with a rich and sonorous voice. It’s set to debut in 2018.
