Format change coming to WiC today

Hello, WiC readers. First of all, we love you. Thank you for choosing to come to Winter is Coming for your Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire-related news and analysis.

Second, change is beautiful and natural. In that spirit, effective this afternoon, WiC will undergo a format change. The site will still be laid out like the site you know — with a featured article up top, chronologically organized articles under it, and little category modules down the page — but the frames around the stories will be a little different, and we’ll be able to include multiple stories in the featured area, and there will be a video module down at the bottom, among other little updates. We also plan to update incidental stuff like our our About and Contact pages, since — let’s be honest — they’ve been pretty meh for a while now.

Overall, the change will help streamline the way the backend of the site works, so we can bring you all the info you low-key need to know with a minimum of interruptions. There could be a couple of issues today as we smooth out the wrinkles, but we’ll get everything working in short order. If you see something not working, let us know!
