HBO Spain debuts new footage from Game of Thrones season 7
By Dan Selcke
Yesterday, HBO Spain set up a special exhibit in Madrid and gave several lucky Game of Thrones fans a sneak peak at what’s coming in season 7. They posted the video of what those fans saw on their Facebook page. Check it out, and beware potential SPOILERS:
After charming introductions by Arya, the Night King and Hodor (who’s still appearing alongside other cast members despite the fact that he died), we’re treated to a reel of unedited raw footage from the new season. There are glimpses of several battles, Jon Snow standing in the snow, Daenerys in a deep dark cave, and more.
Exciting stuff! Let’s take a closer look at some of the highlights. First, we have a very blurry shot of someone busying himself in the Citadel library.
That could be Sam, it could be Jim Broadbent’s character, or it could be someone else. Certainty!
Next, there are several shots of a scene we first glimpsed in the season 7 trailer: the Unsullied storming Casterly Rock:
It looks like things go pretty well for the Unsullied here, but at least one soldier gets pushed off a ladder.
We don’t think it’s Grey Worm, though. It looks like he makes it inside long enough for actor Jacob Anderson to goof around on set.
We also got a glimpse of the epic battle filmed over a period of weeks at Los Barruecos in Spain. Between the arrows and the explosions, this one is shaping up to be a fight to remember.
Here’s an intriguing shot of Dany wandering in a cave. Is she looking for Dragonglass in the caves beneath Dragonstone?
Also, a nice unguarded moment from Emilia Clarke on the Dragonstone set:
We get some side-by-sides of character profiles and fans reacting to them. Here’s Gregor Clegane drawing his huge sword…
…and Jon Snow shivering in the North.
Here’s yet another intriguing shot — someone beats up someone else with a hammer. Who could it be?
Below, Jaime and Bronn ride again!
Let’s with this shot of Brienne and Podrick training in the Winterfell courtyard.
Pod still looks like he has a ways to go, but he’s come a long way since season 2.
