News: Doctor Who panel to be held at San Diego Comic Con
For anyone going to San Diego Comic-Con, get ready, because BBC announced there will be a Doctor Who panel, featuring the actors from the tenth season. The panel of celebrities from the show includes Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie, Matt Lucas, Michelle Gomez, writer Mark Gatiss, and showrunner Steven Moffat. Currently, the panel is supposed to take place in Hall H on Sunday, July 23, from 2-3 PM.
The panel is supposed to act as a “final bow” for Peter Capaldi and his doctor.
In addition to a panel of these amazing actors and actresses moderated by Chris Hardwick of Nerdist, an exclusive clip of the Christmas special will air just for SDCC guests. Last time they aired an exclusive clip at SDCC, they did a great job at keeping a secret. Will they be able to do it again?
Here’s Anglophenia’s overview of the panel:
"BBC AMERICA’s Doctor Who returns to San Diego Comic-Con for the final Hall H panel with star Peter Capaldi. Fans will have an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special – the final special starring Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and written by Emmy®-winning lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat. Join Peter Capaldi (the Doctor), Pearl Mackie (Bill), Matt Lucas (Nardole), Michelle Gomez (Missy), writer and actor Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) and showrunner Steven Moffat (Sherlock) for a panel moderated by Chris Hardwick that will celebrate Christmas in July and share one last look back with fans at their time with the iconic global hit series. Watch the entire critically acclaimed new season of Doctor Who now on BBCAmerica.com, BBC America App and On Demand."
Many people are speculating on what will be talked about during the panel. Some think it will stick solely to the Christmas special, and some believe it’s possible the thirteenth Doctor might be talked about. However, since the SDCC panels are normally sworn to secrecy (as much as possible) would it be in the BBC’s best interest to talk about a subject as popular as the next Doctor?
