The Sunday Herald Culture Awards celebrates Scotland’s talent. The award show held tonight will its second year in a row.

While more than 140 entries were received for each category, David Tennant is nominated for Best Screen Actor TV. The other nominees include Douglas Henshall, Martin Compston and Morven Christie. It is unknown if Tennant will be able to attend the award show. Tennant recently was in Madness and Me, playing Scotland’s most notorious psychiatrist.
Karen Gillan is also nominated for Best Actor on Screen for Film. Other names in her category include James McAvoy, Ewan McGregor, Shirley Henderson, and Ewen Bremner.
Categories
There are multiple categories, including the Technical and Designer Award.
Acting categories include Best Actor for theatre, television and film.
For Music, Best Musical Artist, Group Artist, Best Dance Performer, and One to Watch.
Other categories include Visual Artist, Author of the Year, Best Live Performance. Also, single awards will be given, including Judges Choice Award, Cultural Event of the Year, Best Performing Arts Venue. There will also be the Lifetime Achievement Award; the recipient is unknown.
Judges
The Judges for the Award are Professor Janice Kirkpatrick, Alan Bisset, Pauline Miller Judd, Ruth Wishart, Neil McKay (Editor of the Sunday Herald), Rhona Corscadden, and Stuart Cosgrove.
