Video: Tourism Ireland adds a new section of its Game of Thrones tapestry

This year, Tourism Ireland has gone above and beyond to promote the new season of Game of Thrones. It’s weaved a massive, “77-metre long, Bayeux-style tapestry” featuring 160 scenes from the show and counting. As you can see from the stills below, it’s basically so beautiful you want to cry. Assuming you survive the heartbreak, that is.

And Tourism Ireland is far from done. Each week, it’ll add more panels to the tapestry. This week, it released a time-lapse video of several scenes from “Dragonstone,” the first episode of Game of Thrones season 7, being added to the overall work. Watch it below.

So now we’ve got Arya chilling with the Lannister soldiers, Euron Greyjoy’s fleet sailing into King’s Landing, Daenerys and Tyrion contemplating the invasion of Westeros over the Painted Table, and Dany’s allies sailing to Dragonstone.

What new scenes will be added on after “Stormborn,” tonight’s new episode? We’re as eager to find out as you are.

If you want to see the Game of Thrones tapestry up close and personal (and who wouldn’t?), it’s on display at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland as of yesterday, July 22. And for those who can’t make the trip, we’ll be bringing you new images of it here at WiC throughout the season!
