We’ve done one frame-by-frame teaser, so we’re back to do one for Twice Upon a Time!
More from Winter is Coming
- For All Mankind finally gives us information in Episode 405, “Goldilocks”
- Watch a stunning VFX breakdown of The Wheel of Time season 2
- Of course Steve Toussaint (Corlys Velaryon) thinks Eve Best (Rhaenys Targaryen) should rule Westeros
- Confirmed: The Last of Us season 2 will air in 2025
- Final season of Star Trek: Discovery will have “a lot of action, a lot of adventure, a lot of fun”
When The Doctor Falls teaser aired, I took it upon myself to take frame-by-frame screenshots of the teaser to help see what we might miss just by watching it. The Doctor Falls frame-by-frame turned out pretty well, so I decided to do one for Twice Upon a Time.
This one?
Well, this one has a couple moments that were impossible to get without a face that will inevitably make you laugh. But still, we’re going to go through this frame-by-frame, and see what we learn. If we laugh at a few faces along the way, all the better, right?
As you know the clip of Twice Upon a Time premiered at SDCC on Sunday, and while there doesn’t seem to be any synopsis, the teaser might be all you need. Somehow, after the Twelfth Doctor landed in the South Pole, he ran into the First Doctor. This all creates some kind of horrible time crash (as it normally does), and all of time…stops? From the teaser, we know they’re trapped in a moment of time. What could happen?
Okay, for anyone who hasn’t seen the trailer yet, wants a refresher, or just wants to bask in the beauty of it, here it is:
Now, let’s see what we learn from these photos.
BBC
It looks like the episode will start the same way the 50th did, with a blast from the past.
BBC
A welcome look at the wonderful William Hartnell….
BBC
And surprise! Now it’s David Bradley! In color!
BBC
In which the Doctor calls out to himself that he’s the Doctor (wouldn’t he remember this, though?)
BBC
He’s THE Doctor. The original, you might say. (Imagine telling your first regeneration you’ve defied the laws of the regeneration, oops!)
BBC
Hello Polly! Oh, and a regenerating hand! Looks like two regenerations will be happening!
BBC
Remember when I said funny faces? Yeah. Twelve’s still not ready.
BBC
Two Doctors from two points in their timeline enter a bar….(and that’s where the joke ends because the timeline erupted)
BBC
Now we’re getting somewhere! A giant crater, with Hitler(?) and a solider on opposite sides.
BBC
The soldier’s having none of this.
BBC
A snowflake, frozen in time. (Is this where I start singing Frozen?)
BBC
Mark Gatiss is unhappy. Very unhappy.
BBC
The Doctor’s aren’t amused.
BBC
This should really be ‘starring three doctors’, One, Twelve, and Three’s hair.
BBC
David Bradley doing a wonderful First Doctor, as always.
BBC
Oh, yay! Mark Gatiss is happy again! Good-o!
BBC
This doesn’t seem like the South Pole anymore…does it?
BBC
Obligatory TARDIS flying.
BBC
More funny faces.
BBC
Something obviously went wrong here.
BBC
“We do have one advantage…”
BBC
“What advantage?” (Sorry for the faces.)
BBC
“There’s two of us.” (I’m REALLY sorry for that one, but it was too good not to use.)
BBC
The party don’t start til they walk in?
BBC
And hello Bill!!
