Tampa Bay Buccaneers debate Game of Thrones, and other funnies from “The Queen’s Justice”

Welcome to another long list of things that are both funny and about Game of Thrones, specifically the most recent episode: “The Queen’s Justice.” Beginning funny now.

First up: football stars. They’re just like me or you, in that they also geek out about Game of Thrones. NFL Films caught Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy and Kevin Pamphile debating the merits of the meeting between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen in the latest episode.

If they live-streamed reviews, they would get so many viewers. Just saying.

In other famous-people-talking-about-Game-of-Thrones news, Al Gore went on MSNBC and compared the current rate of turnover in the Trump administration to the Red Wedding.

"Former VP Al Gore compares Trump admin. to ‘Game of Thrones’: “It’s deeply troubling” https://t.co/hRCFIKRWOx— MSNBC (@MSNBC) August 3, 2017"

Answer the question, Mr. Vice President: do you watch Game of Thrones like everybody else?

Speaking of reviews, we have new recaps from the ever-reliable Ozzy Man…

…and Jonathan Van Ness, who hosts the longest-running and most hilarious Game of Thrones recap show set in a hair salon ever, has a new episode of Gay of Thrones.

New names:

  • Dragonstone: Key Westeros
  • Euron Greyjoy: Jared Let-Himself-Go
  • The Unsullied: Shredder cosplayers

Okay, so those weren’t all new, but they needed to be mentioned.

One last video review, from the simply named steve. This guy had never watched an episode of Game of Thrones before watching “The Queen’s Justice,” so he reviews it from a true outsider’s perspective. Would that he could do it every week.

Next, this edit of the Dany-Jon meeting scene had me giggling for five straight minutes:

Grey Worm had a pretty big week, what with taking Casterly Rock…and then getting trapped there. As some of you may know, actor Jacob Anderson also has a music career, and Vanity Fair took advantage of this synergy to have him watch and judge several of the Game of Thrones-themed raps out there.

As you can expect, lots of people loved the bit where Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) rattled off Daenerys’ laundry list of titles only to have Davos Seaworth respond with Jon’s one. First in line for people was Emmanuel herself:

Sample a few of the memes that sprung from that moment:

As a Beatles fan, this killed me:

Each week, Chrys of Chrys Reviews recaps each episode of the show with dozens of screencaps and accompanying captions. I recommend them, because they’re delightful. Below is the one for “The Queen’s Justice.”

We’re not done with the videos. The fine folks at Jolly Roger Cinema put together this elaborate tribute to the series as a whole, and to Queen.

YouTuber IISuperwomanII (Lilly Singh) has been murdering the Game of Thrones content game during the run-up to the season, and her latest video, “If White Walkers Were Teenage Girls,” is as disturbing as it sounds.

And below, just the dancing part.

In celebrity news, English soccer legend David Beckham spoiled Game of Thrones for European audiences when he watched the show while in America and posted images of Jon and Dany meeting on his Instagrams. (Episodes air later in Europe.) Fans were less than enthused.

And as long as we’re talking about soccer, this clip of Nikola Coster-Waldau (Jaime) and Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyoy) attending a match together has proved popular.

Who’s got three hands and are having a great time? These guys.

Sticking with cast members, Emilia Clarke posted this hilarious video from the set of the untitled Han Solo movie:

And over at the Entertainment Weekly YouTube channel, the surviving members of House Stark play “would you rather?” Sample question: Would you rather hug a man with greyscale or kiss Walder Frey?

Finally, we aren’t the only fans to notice that some of the characters on the show (*cough* Euron *cough*) have been traveling a LOT lately. Redditor keine_fragen traces their progress, and asks the question: just what are the White Walkers doing during all of this?

"Travel in Game of Thrones s7 so far from freefolk"

They must be so bored.

One more thing: this isn’t intended to be funny, but have you seen Ramón Nuñez’s incredible artwork based on the new season? A sampling:
